Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation
OTE is a project developer in the renewable electricity and potable water business utilizing Company owned Intellectual Property and the years of hands-on experience of its Oceanographers, Engineers, and Marine Scientists.
OTE designs Ocean Thermal Electrical Conversion (“OTEC”) power plants and Seawater Air Conditioning (“SWAC”) plants for large commercial properties. These technologies provide practical solutions to mankind’s three oldest and most fundamental needs: clean drinking water, plentiful food, and sustainable, affordable energy without the use of fossil fuels.
OTE Engineers and Scientists have spent many years in the research and development of OTEC and SWAC systems. Our Executive Team members have led engineering and technical companies from start up to commercialization.
OTEC is a clean technology that extracts energy from the temperature difference between warm surface ocean water and cold deep seawater. In addition to producing electricity, some of the seawater running through an OTEC plant can be efficiently desalinated, producing thousands of cubic meters of fresh water every day for agriculture and human consumption. This cold deep nutrient-rich water can also be used to cool buildings (SWAC) and for fish farming/ aquaculture. In short, OTEC is a technology with many benefits, and its versatility makes OTEC unique. Many examples of these technologies have been developed at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority (“NELHA”) test facility, including desalinated seawater, fish-farming, and agriculture.
Since the 1970’s, OTE’s engineers and scientists have worked on several OTEC and SWAC systems including those at NELHA, Lockheed Martin Corporation, the Argonne National Laboratory, and others.
The vision for OTE is to bring these technologies to tropical and subtropical regions of the world where about 3 billion people live. The market includes several US Department of Defense bases situated in the Asia Pacific and other regions where energy independence is crucial.
OTE plans to be the first company in the world to design and build a commercial scale OTEC plant with several promising projects in the planning stages.
Medical Technology & Innovations, Inc.
High growth technology medical device/products company. Our Founder built the Company from concept to marketing by developing a first to market vision screening device ("The PhotoScreener"), designed to identify serious eye problems in young, preverbal or difficult to screen children. The Company addressed all research, development and manufacturing activities through to national recognition (physician, academic and consumer focus groups, professional literature review, beta trials and testing, clinical studies, etc.) The Company’s innovative screening device provided early detection for eye disorders in a large number of under-screened segment of young preverbal children and special needs children who did not receive effective vision screening, due to a lack of adequate methodology. Our Founder arranged for expansion capital from private, institutional and governmental agencies and successfully took company public providing investors with a 500% return on their original investment. The Company sold the PhotoScreener distribution rights to a major eyewear company.
Caspian International Oil Corporation
Our Founder served as Executive Vice Chairman and a Director of Caspian International Oil Corporation, a holding company that owns 95% of the equity in each of two limited liability partnerships organized under the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Businesses provide oil field services such as 2D and 3D seismic acquisitions, data processing and interpretation, reservoir modeling, and topography, and operate an oil field in western Kazakhstan.
